My Poetry

Tomorrow's Love

Unprecedented storms that rip through your body
As if Nostradamus’ prophecies were being fulfilled
Mourning these stars, now extinguished
Adrift in the sky

I feel this extreme fear, these flashbacks
Millions of violated bodies littering the ground
Millions of tears streaming over the pavement
Mingling with our blood
California, teetering on the edge of the abyss
And these Category Six hurricanes ceaselessly chasing one another
The collective dissociation that strikes us

This was not the future we had envisioned
For those with hearts aflame and light as butterflies
Soaring in the wind
Plunged into a new Middle Age
In this devil’s renaissance
